 In His annual benediction to humanity (delivered each year on New Year’s Eve), Louix Dor Dempriey proclaims 2012 as The Year of Faith. The rapid and intense planetary transformation occurring this year requires that ones rely on their faith like never before. As systems and organizations that are not founded and grounded in love continue to crumble and dissolve at ever-increasing rates, people’s faith will be tested. RECENTLY I read Charlotte's Web to my daughter.

Remember the story? A tenacious and articulate spider writes words in her web to describe a sweet but otherwise unremarkable pig.

‘Terrific’, she spells out, then ‘radiant’. Just before she dies – because even uncommonly gifted arachnids still cark it – she spins the word ‘humble’.

“What does humble mean, Mum?” asks my daughter.

“It means you don’t have tickets on yourself; let’s say you won the spelling bee at school, you wouldn’t show off about it.”

My daughter thinks for a moment, then replies, “I don’t know anyone who’s humble.”

There, dear reader, is the voice of a generation. Humility, that most venerated, ancient and biblical of virtues, has slipped out of our lexicon, swept away by a culture that’s all about the ‘me’, not ‘we’.

As a freshly minted journalism graduate, I wrote obituaries when there were no ambulances to chase. It was brain-numbingly dull. Most of the subjects hadn’t actually died, but the editor wanted to be prepared.

So I’d eulogise on Sir Edmund Hillary, Nelson Mandela, the Queen Mother (I knocked her off three times) – extraordinary people defined by a common adjective: humility.

Years later, his obit yellowing in a file, I cajoled Hillary to confess who stepped on the summit of Everest first, he or Tenzing Norgay? “We reached the top almost together,” he said firmly. (Notably, there’s no photo of Hillary on the peak; he simply didn’t think to take one.)

In these days of social media and ‘selfies’, it’s not hard to be humble – it’s impossible. Everybody is a brand to be self-promoted. “Get yourself an agent,” said a showbiz friend when I started this column. “Why?” I asked.

“People will read it for the writing, not because I’m some chick on a yoghurt ad.” He smiled knowingly: “Trust me.” (Wish I had, there’s a motza to be made spruiking dairy products.)

“Humility,” said CS Lewis, “is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.” What a quaint notion for a culture raised on praise and driven by a need for recognition.

This lack of humility now defines who we are: the arrogance that drove the global financial crisis; the self-inflation and deflation of our athletes in London; the buying of Twitter or Facebook followers; the slow death of civility.

“We’re going to audit you,” a media exec told me recently when I was up for a new role.

“Audit me? What for?” I asked anxiously, regretting my tax tardiness.

“For popularity; you know, to see how many followers you have and how often you’ve been ‘liked’ and ‘favourited’.” Jeez, Louise – I’m a writer. Do you reckon Shakespeare could have knocked out 37 plays and a zillion sonnets if he’d had to constantly tweet about how fabulous he was?

Look, I love social media, but this need to shop-window ourselves is creating a generation that calculates its worth on external adulation, not personal integrity. Where will our next Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi or Aung San Suu Kyi come from if we continue to pursue glory over good?

One obituary I wish I’d written was Neil Armstrong’s. When he died, TV producers scrambled for video footage.

Yes, there was the moon walk, but there were no red carpets, no appearances on Letterman, no reunions with retired astronauts. He was the ultimate humble hero – an explorer who sought greatness not for one man, but for mankind.

Hello one and all. I recently found that my blog is still up after many years. And I have seen that it still gets the occasional page view.

I still follow my guru Bhagavan Sri Pranananda (or as most may know Him Louix Dor Demprey).

The changes I have experienced with Him have been ongoingly more and more amazing, and they continue to this day. I feel so blessed to have a guru in my life, let alone The Second Coming as those who know Him, know Him as.

According to Guruji we are soon going world-wide with His teachings, as an online TV Station is in the works, and a site where one can become a member and recieve a more personal experience of Him.

The year of 2012 is very special indeed. And I, as a long-time disciple have experiences which I can only share of in words. My path is a very personal experience which few words can describe. If you wish to have an awesome life, all-the-time I suggest you look into the possibility of becoming a disciple. There are many disciples you can ask of what it is like. I personally have been with Prananandaji for 10, going on 11 years now. Magic is an understatement.

The Virtues of Vegan Living

The Truth about Protein

• Humans were created as herbivores (blunt teeth, no claws), not as carnivores.
• It is a great misconception that “You need animal protein to be lean and strong” (buffalos, horses, cows, elephants, and even brontosauruses are/were all vegans).
• Spinach, spirulina, broccoli, bee pollen, hemp, brussel sprouts, almonds, and pecans are all very high in protein and will easily satisfy the body’s protein requirements.
• Spirulina is 60-65% protein, with complete amino acid content—the highest of any protein source.
• Protein deficiency is extremely rare, except in areas where people are starving.
• Meat diminishes physical and sexual performance because arteries and blood vessels get clogged.
• It is important to get protein without fat and cholesterol.
• Protein requirements are very easy to meet with plant foods.
• What smoking does to your lungs, meat does to your arteries. The link between an animal-based diet and heart disease is as strong as the link between smoking and cancer.
• Cancer and heart disease are most frequent where meat eating prevails.

The Truth about Calcium

• Broccoli provides more calcium than cow’s milk, and in an absorbable form.
• The dairy industry spends billions per year advertising the calcium in dairy, yet dairy is not high in absorbable calcium.
• Calcium deficiency of dietary origin is unknown in the U.S. Nonetheless, the dairy industry claims the U.S. has a calcium deficiency and therefore has to consume more dairy products.
• The dairy industry sets the calcium requirements for the U.S.D.A.
• The U.S. is the world’s biggest consumer of calcium, yet has the greatest incidence of osteoporosis.
• The primary cause of osteoporosis is a lack of weight-bearing exercise (due to sedentary lifestyle) and over-consumption of animal protein—both of which are hallmarks of many Americans’ way of life.

The Truth about Fat and Cholesterol

• You can get all the “good” fats (omega 3, 6, and 9) you need from green, leafy vegetables and raw seeds.
• Although fish contains “good fat,” it is packaged with PCB’s, cholesterol, and other toxins. In fact, the good fat in fish comes from the plants (plankton) which the fish eats!
• Our liver makes all the cholesterol we need. Therefore, the amount we need from our diet is zero.
• High cholesterol contributes to more deaths than all the wars, natural disasters, and disease epidemics combined.
• There is no difference between white meat and red meat. A 3-ounce steak has 75 mg of cholesterol, and a 3-ounce skinless chicken breast contains 72 mgs of cholesterol.
• Seafood is not a healthy alternative to red or white meat! Shrimp have 6 times more cholesterol than beef.
• 3 glasses of milk has the same cholesterol as 20 slices of bacon.
• Plant-based food has zero cholesterol.

The Truth about Dairy Food

• Humans are the only animals that drink milk after they are weaned.
• Because humans have no biological need for milk after they are weaned, at some point the pancreas very naturally stops producing the enzyme lactase (which breaks down lactose), which is why 75% of the global population is falsely classified as “lactose intolerant.”
• Humans are the only animals on the planet which routinely consume another animal’s milk.
• Cow’s milk carries the genetic blueprint to produce a ten-fold increase from birth weight in the cow’s first year of life, accounting for the extreme obesity in many children who were fed bovine formula.
• Bovine (and other) formulas deprive children of their primary source of their immune system—which is naturally, freely, and divinely provided by a mother’s breast milk.

Impact on the Environment

• Raising animals for food accounts for more than half of all the annual water used in the U.S. It takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of meat, but only 25 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of wheat. The average American uses 106 gallons of water per day. If that person also eats 1 hamburger, that figure increases to 3,106 gallons.
• A vegan lifestyle saves 1 million gallons (3,780,000 liters) of water every year!
• 85% of all U.S. agricultural land is used to grow food to feed the animals we eat.
• 260 million acres of land in the U.S. are destroyed each year raising animals for slaughter.
• Raising animals for food requires more than 1/3 of all raw materials and fossil fuels used in the U.S. Producing a single hamburger patty uses enough fossil fuel to drive a small car 20 miles and enough water for 17 showers.
• Rainforests (which provide 90% of all our medicines, 60-80% of the world’s oxygen, and countless species of animals going extinct) are being destroyed at a rate of 125,000 square miles per year to provide grazing for animals raised for consumption. For every quarter-pound, fast-food burger made of rainforest beef, 55 square feet (5.1 square meters) of land are consumed.
• The fishing industry is taking fish out of the ocean much faster than the ocean can reproduce them.
• 15 out of 17 of the world’s fishing zones are now barren, due to the damaging and wasteful methods of fishing currently used.
• 80% of all fish caught through large-scale commercial fishing methods are dumped—dead—back into the sea (including thousands of whales/dolphin/porpoises trapped in those same nets).
• Of the 20% of all remaining caught fish, half of those are fed to farm animals. Translated: Only 10% of all the fish caught by large-scale commercial methods end up being consumed by humans!
• Animal feces are the cause of E. coli bacterial infections. There are hundreds of cases of food poisoning from meat and meat product recalls every year, mostly due to the unsanitary conditions and operations on factory farms (the true causes of which are almost never released to the public by/through the media).
• The reason why it is necessary to cook meat (particularly chicken) for so long is to kill the bacteria from fecal matter on the meat.
• The meat industry causes more water pollution in the U.S. than all other industries combined, because the animals raised for food produce 130 times more excrement than the entire human population—86,600 pounds per second.
• One typical factory pig farm generates the same amount of raw waste as a city of 12,000 people.

A Magical Essential Oil Called “Thieves”

I would like to share with the world the magic, wonder, and healing power of a truly amazing essential oil, called “Thieves.” Like some, I was at first turned off by what sounded to Me like a dark or negative name, whereas everything carries an energetic imprint, including names of products. However, once I learned why this oil was given this name, I was able to let go of any concerns about the name, recognizing that the distributors were using the oil’s legacy as part of their marketing… all well and good, you might say. The important thing is what this oil can do. Rather than repeat, it is best and easiest for you to simply go to this link (see below) and read for yourself. I have been using this oil for years, and I highly recommend it to become part of everyone’s standard apothecary (medicine bag). Travel with it, too. It will be a lifesaver… in some cases, literally! I also apply Thieves oil to the soles of My feet and to My children’s feet—when we travel, during flu season, when around people who have major colds or infections. It will help keep your kids healthy when their classrooms are full of runny noses and infections, and it does the same for you when your roommates and office workers are sneezing and coughing all around you.

On a side note, clove oil (the main ingredient in Thieves) is one of the best remedies for toothaches, when applied directly onto the gums around the ailing tooth. This oil is quite potent, though, and may be difficult for small children and some adults, so use carefully and sparingly.

To all My beloveds,

It is with tremendous joy that I write to you on this momentous occasion, the presentation of our brand-new website! and, within this site, this section entitled From the Desk of The Master. This section of the website is dedicated to My writing of occasional letters and announcements, as well as for giving recommendations and endorsements for films, books, and other projects or resources of value for one’s spiritual development. I might also on occasion answer letters or specific questions here (if they are germane to a particular point or message I wish to convey in this column), though Q&A’s will by and large be found in another section dedicated specifically to this. It is, in essence, a special place where I can commune with you directly, quickly, and most efficiently. I look forward to our burgeoning relationship through this column.

I wish to thank all of you, our readers and listeners, for your patience over these past nine months while the new site has been under construction. Our beautiful seva team has created many new features—including the advent of video and film, along with a much more user friendly navigation system. This being merely Phase One of the new site, there are many more surprises in store, to enhance your experience on www.Louix.org (our new and much simpler name). Please feel free to write to the webmaster at any time, sending your comments, feedback, suggestions for improvements, corrections, or requests for other features you would like to see.

Thirdly, I must publicly thank our web team for their devotion to this project, for their truly selfless service (as most all of them also carry full-time day jobs and have been putting in up to 70-hour weeks to bring this project to completion), and for the beauty, talent, and grace you all infused into this project. You have done a great service for many who will come to this wellspring to drink. My words fall infinitely short of conveying the depths of My gratitude to all of you, who have given so much of yourselves to create such a beautiful work of art and treasure trove of learning and spiritual sustenance and inspiration. I thank you with all My heart.

I also wish to thank you, beloved readers and listeners, for your understanding of our need and choice to close the website while it was under construction (I know that many people had difficulty with this decision). This ministry has undergone so many colossal and rapid changes this year that the existing site simply no longer represented our mission in a befitting level of grace and accuracy. We deliberated long over this choice and unanimously knew it was the only way. So, I thank you for your patience and understanding. I hope you find that it was worth the wait.

As I stated in My Divine dispensation delivered on 31 December 2007, when I proclaimed 2008 as The Year of Rebirth, clearly has this been so for this website, Myself personally, and for this ministry at large—as I am sure many of you have no doubt seen in and for your own lives. Perhaps you might peruse that discourse once again, delivered some ten months ago (it can be found on this new site, in our video section of the teachings). Timely it is, as this Year of Rebirth begins to draw to a close, that our website now emerges from its chrysalis, in synchronicity with many of you/us who are emerging from your/our own, all in God’s perfect timing and will… as everything is.

The Evolution of Consciousness

You were created in God’s image as pure love,
to be love, receive love, and spread love—
all the days of your lives.

People who hold themselves as unlovable attack whenever they receive love, and the intensity of the attack is always commensurate with the amount of love received.

The God-surrogate/transference dynamic of the human psyche is what makes people expect and unconsciously demand to be treated the way their parents treated them.

As few parents have retained their innate and God-given ability to love unconditionally—it having been crushed and/or programmed out of them when they were children—most people grow to misinterpret conditional love, judgment, criticism, and even abuse as unconditional love, through the God-transference dynamic.

It only follows, then, that (as adults) all acts of unconditional love received can only be interpreted as “violations” (until, of course, that negative programming has been transcended and reversed) and, therefore, must be punished.

Gaining awareness is the access to power.
Applying the awareness is the attainment of power.

The cure is achieved through concerted discipline in constantly affirming one’s natural state as being one that is whole and loving, one’s God-given right and worthiness to receive love, and in affirming humanity’s natural predisposition and desire to always and only love unconditionally.

This, in turn, not only re-programs the mental and emotional bodies, but also magnetizes spontaneous kind and loving acts, which now can be easily recognized, welcomed, and received in grace.

These acts are now able to stimulate and activate the divinely-inherent love mechanism, born into all humans, to respond in kind, thus fostering and perpetuating unconditional love throughout the world and within one’s own life—achieving and fulfilling God’s will for all Creation.

The God-transference dynamic

All souls, pre-incarnation, live in the constant and omnipresent love and company of their Lord God and Creator.

Because only the superconscious (I AM) awareness is maintained at birth, the conscious and most of the unconscious states having been erased, every child is born with a fully cellular knowing of its Divine parentage and—now in a physical form—very readily and instantly recognizes (the innocent but dangerous misinterpretation) and accepts its earthly parents (biological, adoptive, guardians and/or all other first and/or primary caregivers) as God—not as surrogates or substitutes for God, but as God itself—in much the same way that many newly-born animals will recognize and accept the first living creature they see as their true parents.

And since every soul and, therefore, child knows that God is infallible and wholly, unconditionally loving, any and all acts performed by the earthly parents are likewise interpreted and known by the child to be ones of unconditional love.

Then, as parents continue to place conditions upon the love they give, to judge, criticize, hit, and otherwise hurt their children—wittingly and unwittingly—all children know ought else but to accept these as God’s own acts, which can only, by definition, be ones of unconditional love.

Now incarnated and very quickly having a new definition of the unconditional love they knew and received pre-incarnating, people grow to expect, demand, and therefore create this same behavior and treatment from others in their lives—particularly in all intimate and/or long-term relationships.

Because all children, however, also retain the soul’s knowingness of the true, unconditional love that they received from God prior to incarnation, whenever they experience non-love or conditional love from their parents, an internal conflict arises.

Since God can only love unconditionally, and since the earthly parents are God in the child’s eyes and heart and, therefore, are infallible too, all non-loving behaviors and acts committed by the parents must—as far as the child is concerned—be due to, and blamed upon, what (in the child’s innocent eyes, heart, and mind) can only be the child’s own fallible, unlovable, and non-loving state of being.

Thus sets in place the programming by which all human beings define themselves and create their lives until such time as the soul can and will no longer tolerate the absurdity of these terms and conditions.

At that moment, the spiritual “awakening” occurs, and the “seeker” is born.

The Restoration

What then follows—as ones gain greater and greater awareness and remembrance of their true, divine nature, and learn and practice the many tools to perfectly assist their de-mummification process—is the gradual (re)emergence of their divine and unconditionally-loving state of being.

When one’s consciousness has reached the 50%-saturation of being pure, unconditional love, one crosses the threshold known as “Enlightenment” and is forever liberated from living in the illusion of believing that one is, or ever was, separate from God.

At this point, a quantum shift occurs, now that the gravity called Fear no longer holds dominion in one’s life. As love is now the gravity which sustains one’s embodiment on Earth, the divine restoration (ascension) process now becomes highly accelerated. Fears and distortions are now easily recognized, transmuted, and transcended, and love is likewise easily recognized, welcomed, and created at every turn.

As there are as many levels, or tiers, of illuminated consciousness as there are within a consciousness which lives in Separation, once the enlightened one has completed the process of refining one’s remaining distortions, the rest of one’s life is spent refining one’s refinements, for God is infinite love, infinitely and ever expanding through the greater awareness of love attained by every cell of outer Creation in every moment of this ascension process. And since you were created in God’s image and are—in essence and therefore by definition—God, yourself, the same is true for you.

So…what happens, one wonders, when the Cosmic ascension process is complete? The answer is simple: That question—and its origin—no longer exist.

The immense Light of this Avatar in particular, The Maitreya, immediately reveals in others—the very moment they encounter His Divine and Immortal Presence—all that is not pure within them, so that they may purify it by following His simple guidance, His flawless example, and by following His gentle, easy, and loving direction. In fact, so great is His Light that, on countless occasions, it appears in various manifestations on photographs, taken by ordinary cameras (as seen in the above unretouched photo).



Instead of recognizing this truth and prostrating themselves in utter humility and gratefulness for having been so duly blessed, exalted, and uplifted, some of those in the Avatar’s presence have used this dross (He so graciously exhumes from the corpses of their Separate existence) as a weapon against their own Lord.



Even in the midst of such ignorance, treachery, and treason does the Lord, Himself, in human form, accept these unworthy offerings of love as the finest roses in His garden of souls; does He bear and endure these transgressions against Him; and does He continue loving in the face of such adversity—until such time that His children will finally surrender to the Truth and Inevitability of His love and of their inexorable union with Him.



Such is His manner, such is the essence of His omnipresent love, and such is the infinite blessing of His Presence among us.

So many live in fear of the pain and suffering that tomorrow may bring,

And you live in the certain knowing

That tomorrow’s dawn will bring you inexorably closer to God.

As this world continues to go increasingly more mad, always remember that you are guided, anchored, protected, and will not only find your way through, but will become so empowered, freed, and uplifted that you will be able to be way-showers, guardians, helpers, and saviors for so many others who find themselves lost in despair, disillusion, hopelessness, and helplessness. And may that birth a new and unprecedented level of gratefulness within you, as well as inspiration, hope, and, above all, passion, commitment, discipline, and obedience to the will of God—particularly as I speak it and reveal it to you, as well as when and how you feel it being spoken to you, in and through your heart.



My beloveds, let these words inspire you and remind you how truly blessed is your life. And, through this, may your lives serve to awaken, uplift, and reassure those around you that they, too, share your birthright and your destiny to live and bask in the glory of God.



If there could be but one humble request I could ask of you, and one alone, it would be for you to be the love and the strength for others that I have been for you. There is no greater gift or offering that you could give to Me. By doing this, we merge as One and you replicate Me; you replicate, share, and spread My life, My glory, My love, My legacy, My very existence; and you ground My eternal existence within humanity—its every thought, breath, word, feeling, and action.



Please be this love, this strength, and the knowingness for others, so they, too, will find Me as you have and, in so doing, will discover and remember themselves as Love.

Each Precious Moment

How many times have you felt something deep in your heart that you really wanted to tell another and, yet, you might have told twenty or thirty other people, but never that one? Though many excuses could justify the avoidance, there is only one true reason: Fear of intimacy.

What do you suppose might happen if you quieted the mind and the emotional body and delivered the compliment to the one who most deserves to hear it? You might (both) start to cry and hug each other. Maybe your friend will say that he loves you, leaving you with a new predicament—having to receive pure, unconditional love from another. All sorts of fears arise from this thought: “What will I say? What will I do? Will I now be obligated? What will come next, now that we have crossed the forbidden bridge?” These fears can drive you to great lengths to avoid being intimate with the ones with whom you really need and long to be.

The best place to begin this conversation is with your parents. How many of you have a parent who passed on before you had a chance to say something to him/her that you really wanted to say? How many of you still have moments when you feel a lump in your throat, a knot in your chest, or tears in your eyes over it? How many of you wished, at the very least, “God, if I had her back for even one minute, I would run to her, throw myself at her feet, and tell her how much I love her and how grateful I am to have her as my mother.” But instead of telling her, you told everyone else or no one at all. And for those whose parents are still embodied, why wait? Tell them now and every chance you get.

Time is the most precious commodity on the planet. No moment lives beyond the confines of itself. And no moment can ever be lived twice. Knowing this, would you be willing to make a promise to yourself? Will you live each moment of your life as though it were your last? Because it is. Tomorrow is promised to no one. Although many are quick to make this promise, few keep it because, soon after each Epiphany or spiritual renewal, they allow themselves to get sucked back in by the groaning machine of life ’s daily routines.

The first, and most powerful, place to apply this promise is in your relationships with others. What if you treated every encounter with every human being—friend, foe, lover, brother, boss, stranger—as the very last time you will ever have together. How would your behavior differ in those encounters if you truly knew you would never see them again? How would it differ if you knew it was your last day on the planet?

Any human being who could be fully present to that truth would cry a river of tears in most all of those moments. You would also laugh, hug, hold, compliment, and share your love profusely. The reason this scenario rarely plays out is because being present to that level of truth is excruciating. Why? It brings up the all-pervasive, all-encompassing, human fear of death, of that one and (more importantly) of your own. Human life is predicated upon the fear of death, from the very first moment of living, because of the conscious and unconscious belief in mortality.

Fear of intimacy leaches into many different corners of one’s life. What about couples who have been married twenty or thirty years? None would argue that certain things do become rote after all those years. “Honey comes home from work each night at six o’clock. Dinner is at six-thirty. We dine out on Saturday. Our children come to visit every Thanksgiving.” Life finds that it has settled into a groove. Things are taken for granted. You make gross assumptions that are totally illusory. “It just happens” is the excuse most commonly used and accepted. In truth, nothing just “happens.” Everything you do, and everything that happens to you, occurs solely by way of your own conscious, or unconscious, free-willed choice.

Have you ever been driving home and heard sirens as you neared your house and felt your heart start pounding with, “Oh, my God, please don’t let it be my house!” What if you drove home one day only to find your house charred to the ground. You were expecting to have dinner with your wife and children and you find out from the fireman that they are all dead. After wailing and mourning for weeks or months or years, where is the first place your mind will take you? To the last time you saw them. “What did I say? What space was I in? Did I say ‘I love you’?”

These “wake up” calls obviously come to those who directly experienced them, but they also happen for the benefit of all those who, in any way, witnessed or gained awareness of the incidents. Ironically, it is most always those who say “Yes, I know that” who insist on learning the lesson and receiving the gift only after tragedy has struck their own lives, rather than doing so, vicariously, through the experiences of others.

Does that mean to live in fear? No, it means the opposite. Live in passion. Claim every moment. Seize each moment and promise yourself you will never avoid an opportunity to tell someone you love him or her and that you care. That is “living in the moment,” living in mastery. Unfortunately, so many minds become consumed by such putrefied thoughts as, “When am I going to ascend? When am I going to do my life’s work? What level initiate am I? I am in the twelfth overtone of the third octave twice removed on Sundays.” What does that mean? Can anyone tell Me? Does it matter? Does any of it matter?

What matters is how much you are loving the person that is sitting next to you right now. That is what matters. Do you take a genuine, human interest in the lives of those who are serving you, or do “Thank You’s” carelessly roll off your tongue like grains of salt falling out of a shaker? Always take the time to look deep into the eyes of one who has just served you, to sincerely express your gratitude and love. Why not ask if your server is comfortable? Ask if there is anything you can get for him. Have fun with it. Surprise people. Do something for someone who does not expect it. That is where and when the magic of life really starts to happen.

Life is not about knowing everything or having all the right things to say. It is about filling each moment with passion, adventure, love, and joy. Look in your heart. The heart knows everything about everything all the time. Christedness means choosing that which serves the highest good for the greatest number of people in any given moment. Combine this principle with “living each moment as your last” and you will experience the heights of intimacy and ecstasy in communion with all those you meet, all the days of your life.

This year, disciples and devotees worldwide are invited to participate in three days of celebration for Pranananda’s 44th birthday. To honor Pranananda and invoke His presence, you may wish to create a sacred space in your home, including an altar with Pranananda’s picture upon it, or decorate a chair with flowers, fabrics, and other adornments. Abstaining from a particular food or fasting will also help you attune more deeply with Him and the energies of this holy event.

Throughout the three-day period, reflect on how your life has changed as a result of Prananandaji’s love and guidance. Recall the awe and wonderment of your first encounters with Him and the healings you have experienced during His pilgrimages and retreats. Reflect on how His teachings have helped you heal and grow closer to God. Read Miracles and Lilas on His website as a reminder of the power of His Love. Write a journal of recollections and inspiration that you receive during these three days. Most of all, allow love and joy to fill your heart as you celebrate the gift of Pranananda’s presence in your life.

On the eve of His birthday, Pranananda shows His devotion to us by giving darshan at a public Evening Event in Melbourne, Australia. If you cannot attend, there are many ways in which you can receive the blessings from this event and share the outpouring of His love:

• Gather at one of Pranananda’s ashrams or study groups and listen to recordings of His teachings.
• Play a favorite recording from one of His retreats or pilgrimages, Disciple Training or In the Moment tapes, or one of the many inspirational Audio Discourses from His website. Invite friends and family to join you.
• Send a website link of one of Pranananda’s teachings, poems, or discourses to a friend, colleague, or loved one.

Apple Tree Planting Ceremony

Building upon the vision for a global clean-up project (inaugurated two years ago for Pranananda’s birthday), in honor of His birthday this year, Grace in Action will expand to incorporate an on-going fruit tree planting project — Forests of Fruit. By planting fruit trees and encouraging others to do so, we give life to Pranananda’s teachings that we are divinely designed to eat fruit, and fruit is paramount for our health and vitality. We will be providing food for humans (and animals and birds) and helping to bring an end to deaths from starvation and malnutrition, which claim millions of lives every year. We will also be helping to reforest the earth, to oxygenate the planet, and to beautify our environment.

This global project will be inaugurated by an apple tree planting ceremony at Sundara Aravinda Ashram, as well as at Pranananda’s ashrams and study centers all over the world.

To celebrate Pranananda’s birthday and participate in this offering to Him, you are invited to plant an apple tree at your home. If the weather is not conducive to planting at this time of year, select and consecrate a place on your land for planting a tree in the Spring time. You may also choose, instead, to gift an apple tree to a friend, family member, or organization such as a school, charity, public park, or senior citizens’ residence. Please review all the instructions and guidelines (in this Forests of Fruit link) before buying or planting your tree.

After the tree planting, serve a platter of fresh fruits (preferably organic) for all to enjoy. To fully harness and integrate the energies of the day, fasting on water and fruit is suggested.

What Is The Guru / Disciple Relationship about?

Many different types of guru-disciple relationships have been defined. Practically, it is important to believe in only one and that is a heart-to-heart relationship. If you can follow that then you don't have to worry about any others. In order to develop a heart-to-heart relationship, it is important that first of all you become aware of your own idiosyncrasies and nature.

Guru is not a person on whom you can dump all your rubbish. Guru is a person who inspires you to lead your life in a creative, efficient and effective way so that there is development of self-awareness – what I can do, what I can't do, how I can be, how I can't be, what is the right thing to do, what is the wrong thing to do, how to understand other people's attitudes and concepts and how not to impose our own egos and ambitions. This is the basis of the guru's teaching.
